Hi Guys & Gals.
Need a little help and advice if you don't mind. Getting married next year, and in the process of looking to book a Honeymoon. Got it down to 2 choices we think but just cant work out which would be better. (i am hoping that someone may have been to both!) Option one - Mauritius. We are looking to staying on the North West coast of the Island. so will have the still Cristal blue waters of the Indian ocean. The resorts we are looking at are All Inclusive (and by that i don't mean the Spain package deal all in, but the proper, The wine list sir, which bottle would you like!) The Island looks awesome! lots to go see and do, can trek off into the middle to the jungle type area, find some little pools and lagoons, waterfalls etc. or just lounge about on the beach/pool! - also has all the water sports included etc etc. We are also looking to upgrade to what they call there 'nirvana' complex which is adult only, and has its own pool area with no kids!! (i don't mind kids but not on honeymoon!) one hotel we are looking at: http://www.lemeridien-mauritius.com/ option two - Bali. Again Indian Ocean, but i don't think the waters will be quite as nice, so not as much snorkeling etc. but there is a rain forest that we can go to, and go on a Jungle Safari! and the island in general just looks much nicer! Wont be All in this time, B&B, but the cost of things over there is apparently really cheap, i am led to believe £20 should pay for dinner for both of us, with drinks, somewhere good. So the money we save on the all in would pay the extra. Also the hotel we are looking at will give us afternoon tea, and free cocktails everyday with the room upgrade we are looking at. so would only really need to have dinner! http://www.nusaduahotel.com/ looking at this hotel We just don't know what to do!! any ideas or suggestions from the knowledge of the org? Cheers in advance! |

Ask your fiancee what she wants and go along with that.
You might as well start the way it's going to carry on after your married. ![]() |

or option 3) A cheap hotel somewhere in the UK. (as in £19.99 Travelodge cheap)
After all, why spend all that cash on a trip away when you are going to (should) be in bed all the time. ![]() Then, next year, go on the big romantic one to celebrate your anniversary.

Went to Bali for my honeymoon and really want to go back. Whilst there we did scuba diving, white water rafting, jungle safari and a bunch of other stuff. Tana Lot at sundown is a must, your missus will love it.
Like every where, be careful of where you go and what you want to do and plan ahead. The roads are not that good and driving around can be far more dangerous than in most countries. Try and post up some photo's later if I get chance. Ste. |

The Maldives is fantastic, the islands are small so there isn't really anything that's not sea- or spa-related, but it's paradise. We've been twice, the first time to Kuerdu (which was nice but large and a bit touristy) and the second time to Mirihi. Mirihi is fairly small but is run by a Swiss-German guy who knows everything, and attention to detail is ultimate. It's a full-time job stopping Mrs. Rod booking us back there every year. I don't know about the other places you're looking at but if you don't like the Maldives you're already dead.

Maldives is top of my list, the problem is.....wet season!! we are going in June. due to this we are limited with where we can go, we were looking at a safari in Kenya or similar and them mauritius, or Dubai and then mauritius. Also looked at seychells, but its notreally grabbing us in the same way!
Cheers for that Ste, it does look awsom, some pics would be great if you have any!? its a really hard decision to make tho!!! |
