Default Intensive Driving courses

Well today I got my settlement figure from my accident back in 2010
So I am looking at getting my car license with some of the money by doing one of these Intensive Driving courses where you can pass in like 5 days.
Has anyone done one around the northwest area ?
And are they any good ?

Regards
Ant.

my mate did one of these, passed first time... i think by doing it solid for a week you don't have time between lessons to forget things and fall into bad habits. best of luck

Can't comment about companies in the north west but I did mine with BSM in London (over 20 years ago mind you!). I would agree with the "no time to pick up bad habits" bit. It was generally a good experience, quite intensive - a bit like doing the DAS in a week I would guess. I was also in the right bit of West London to get to practice "nearly motorway" driving on the A40. I did another couple of hours with my instructor on the Saturday, another on Monday and then took the test on the Tuesday. That's all fine, I passed, but I wouldn't recommend what I did next to anybody.

I didn't actually have a car, or access to one, from April when I did my test until mid July when I bought my first car. This was a bad thing. I basically had to learn all over again. With no instructor. And then drove from London to Donnington and back about three weeks later for Monsters Of Rock. Very glad of my A40 practice as I hit the M1, I can tell you!
