Default Top box on back seat?

Instead of spending £££ on a top box and rack, I was thinking... I already have an old honda top box...

Would it be possible to bolt a top box directly to the rear seat.

Take off the rear seat, drill 4 holes in the bottom of the bot and 4 in the seat, apply nuts and bolts liberally.

???

Click seat back into place.

Obviously I'd buy a cheap fleabay seat to drill, any thoughts or tips?

What bike are we talking about? If it's a pointy SV I have a spare pillion seat for sale on here.

kinda rough idea that as drilling through your cusion on the seat will make the rear seat look rather nasty, if you can get a plate to fit to bottom of the top box you could apply sum ingenuity and fastion a way for it to fit onto the rear grap handle for the pillion. thats what ive done to mine and its just 2 bolts on and off. search pics youl find others have done the same.

Definitely can be done. A spare seat was got for my SV and a scooter topbox bolted onto it. Bit of a fiddle getting the bolts through the seat foam but works a treat.
