Default Drink Driving and bad spelling

Be careful if you decide to sign up for the website that has a mention on the "This month" page of this site. the idiot who is trying to start the site is a convicted drink driver, who doesn't even ride on the road! He has problems with basic spelling and sentence structure, so we have a person who can't ride or spell, trying to get people together on the 'net, so that they can go out on their bikes! Weird!

You would be better off with the people at www.ride-out.com, a site that James McCartney (said webmaster of the rip-off site), has been banned from.

Cheers then!

PS If that isn't bad enough, he rides a bloody awful unfinished Triumph thing.

The section is "Current Month", not "This month" - so someone who can't read is having a go at someone who can't spell :P

How do you know that the chap doesn't suffer from dylexia?

Personally, I don't give a fig whether the the chappie is a convicted drink driver or not. It makes no difference to him running a website.

I know a few people who have been so convicted; they are all decent people who have served their ban and have not reoffended. Ever hear of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act or paying one's debt to society? Sorry, but I find the wording of your post to be more than a little judgemental.

There are people on here who don't ride on the roads, riding only on track-days etc. So what?

There are quote few people who use these Forums who haven't passed a test and don't have a bike. I was one for a while. If he's currently banned then I'm sure he'll join in when the ban ends.

Seems like a potentially valuable web-resource to me, and three-cheers from me for him having made the effort. If it works then great, if it doesn't then at least he had a go.

I'm sure that we're capable of making our own minds up on that

Like what? Speed Four? Speed Triple? Both are very good bikes and are highly thought of/rated by their owners. There are quite a few SV owners on this site who have been lusting after the new S3.

Do you dislike anyone who doesn't ride, can't ride or, in particular, doesn't ride an SV?

Sorry, but the whole tone of your post has rubbed me up the wrong way. No offence intended for any of the above remarks.

Hi Jabba,

I have read some of your other posts on the forum, so I won't take it personally!

The problem with Mr McCartney is that he wound up a lot of people on the ride-out website, as he was claiming to be squeaky clean, and chastising a lot of other members, hence his ban. He claimed that he wanted drink drivers to be hung, drawn and quartered, which is a bit rich considering he is one!

As for the bike thing, if you look at my profile, I no longer ride an SV!

It was late when I posted, and the brain wasn't working particularly well!

I admire him for ripping off the website, and then oragnising rideouts to the same places as the original site! On the same day too!

Good man - I'm equally rude to everyone

It's a brave person who claims to be sqeaky clean, 'tis true. Reformed smokers can be a bit like that in my experience - not all of 'em, but some

It may well be that the bloke is a complete dipstick but I'd prefer to make up my own mind, speak as I find, etc. I'd like to think that people would treat me the same way to - make up their own mind having met me and decided for themselves that I'm an obnoxious d*ckhead

Let me guess - something with a fairing?

Had a drink or two, perchance?

Could be fun

No such in-fighting on this site, and long may it stay that way

I bought my SV in 1999, and I have been on this forum in one form or another since then, and I hav yet to see any kind of big fight on here. I don't plan on starting one now!

Jabba: If you had a website, would you run a spell checker on the content before you published? I do ride a bike with a fairing, but then again, my SV had a fairing! I hadn't had a drink, I was just a bit tired after a long day. And I know that you are Welsh! lol I have my contacts!!! ;o)

Ever tried the naked experience? There's a lot to commend it.

I did have naked bikes, but prefer something to hide behind on long runs. I did 20k on my bike last year, and my neck muscles would be huge if I didn't have a fairing to hide behind! Maybe it was just the fact that my naked bikes were terrible, that I have been put off them?? CB250N, anyone? Not forgetting the RD250!

I thought you lived in Merthyr, not too far from my old mate, the_mass? Maybe I am still tired? lol

And well done for using a spell checker on your sites! I am surprised by how many people don't use a checker on documents in work. It's just laziness as far as I am concerned! Or stupidity!

And as for the banter, yes!!!

I live in Cardiff - about 25 miles from your old mate - but that doesn't make me Welsh

He's nearer the sheep than me
