Guy n gals, I received a late payment notice from Westminster council re a parking ticket issued on Frith Street on the 24/9!!!!
Cast your minds back, did anyone see a ![]() So what to do? Do I phone up and deny ever being there or do I say I was and that no ticket was issued (then I need proof)? Has anyone else received a notice? Do we have to start covering our number plates in case a traffic warden with a pair of binoculars is sitting one of the flats above the shops? Phew!! de-stressed! the traffic wardens are w***ers
![]() I got a similar ticket last year, just around the corner, except that I didn't - if you get my drift. No ticket on bike, but a Red demand in the post for £100 as I hadn't paid the 'original' ![]() Looks like they are working a similar scam on you - what time was the ticket supposedly issued ![]() I expect that we could come up with a dozen witnesses to say that you never received a ticket during the time we where there, although that would implicate us as parking on the double yellows as well . . . |

The question is, do they legally have to issue you with a ticket or can they just jot down your number and send it in the post? Anyone know (I mean really know)? . |

The ticket was issued at 20.49 I have thought about witnesses but as you say, it could implicate others. That night I had Marie (my gf) with me so she can act as a witness as well? |

I got a phantom ticket for parking on a double yellow by my office, also in Westminster.
I sent them a letter stating that no ticket was issued and that to the best of my recollection I was not in that area at the time. I was on a training course over the other side of town during that week. I acknowledge that my bike was frequently legitimately parked in a bike bay on that street and asked them for further clarification and proof that the ticket had been issued. I figured that if it was a valid ticket and the warden who placed it had some sort of proof then I would ask that the fine be reduced to the £50 charge as I never received the initial ticket. As it happened, I got a letter back saying that in this instance they would be cancelling the ticket. |

To avoid this, wardens are supposed to take pictures providing photographic evidence of the parking violation... no pictures, no ticket, no proof.
Reply and fight... if you were not served with the document, the prosecution should end?

Always, always question parking tickets. I think i have had to pay for 2 tickets out of about 10! One i was parked on a red route, and they had a photo, and i got away with it. The dime bar warden, couldnt spell the road name right!

I would also like to know of the legality of issuing tickets and not putting them on a vehicle, if you can prove that the ticket was never actually put on the vehicle, it may be waived. . |
