Default forks potential problem?

on cleaning my sv today i noticed that on the front of the forks by the front mudguard it seems to be a different finish(like an orange peel) its still the same colour and is not ruff its still nice and smooth but only noticable when u get really close.its only 1inch wide and 2 inch long in the same place on both forks.is this corrosion as ive only had it since october and yes ive ridden it every day since i have bought it.
cant remeber if any of my previous bikes/scooters did the same.
should i complain to suzuki as i have only had it for 4months or is this normal and wont cause any major corrosion

Probably the laquer finish discolouring. This is Suzuki's way of making the forks last the 12mth warantee. Give it another bad winter....

The older SVs all did that, I think people called it pitting. It was usually fixed under warranty. I wasn't aware of a problem with the K4, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's basically the same thing.

nope, mine was like that from new, I think it's something to do with the way the forks are made.. don't think it's corrosion...

The inner faces of the sliders aren't polished quite as well as the bits that are on show, could this be the "dimply" texture you refer to?
