Default Busted speedo

Hi all, my speedo packed up yesterday, I did a search and found a thread about a plastic piece inside that shatters, I haven't stripped it yet (need the bugger for work!) but I will do on saturday, any idea how I get one??
One thread mentioned PM'ing a guy called Joe?????

Cheers

If the front wheel has recently been removed or disturbed, it is possible that the speedo drive mechanism has been incorrectly refitted, if this happens, the drive ring will be broken, it's plastic, and you'll need a new one.

To check, remove the front wheel, on the left side of the hub is the speedo drive, it has four tangs radially mounted on a tube, there's good possibility you no longer have any.

When refitting the front wheel it is necessary to ensure that the tangs are alinged with the drive slots in the wheel.

If the front wheel hasn't recently been disturbed, there is a chance that your problem is electrical, first off make sure the connectors are secure and uncorroded.

If you need to replace the drive ring, you could contact Joe, (Itching 2 go).

just to give you a laugh on this old subject my mum went into Jim Allen's in Falkirk today and they wouldn't sell her the cog... she had to buy the whole drive for £94 quid, the sensible woman walked out the door!!!

btw, if anyone else needs a drive sprocket for a K3+, joe (itching 2 go) got hold of one for me in two days, he may have ordered some spares so worth checking with him.
