idle ideas
Hi there,
Jumped on the ol' 650 this morning ('99 model). it started fine as usual but just wont idle. Stalls unless I keep the revs up. Any ideas? |

Yeah... try adjusting your idle speed screw!
 You need to be aiming for between 1300 and 1400 RPM Welcome to the site by the way

Hi guys, I have the same problem, idle speed is around 1000 and it stalls if not warm.
Main part of the question would be, where is the idle control screw?? Cheers, BN |

Its on the LHS of the bike between the frame, its a small black knob you can turn by hand. HTH

Got a chance to get out into the garage and the bike is running on 1 cylinder. So going to check the plugs.

Mine used to stall as well with an idle around 1100. I changed it to 1400 and it is fine now.

Yes! Sorted. New plug and I'm done. Just in time for the thunder and lightning!
