Default Rear brake pedal problems...

Well, the rear brake is fine but when i press it, it doesnt return the the orginal position,

Put some WD40 on the bit around but hasnt helped, think it could be a spring??

Any ideas at all would be great, going to take it apart wkend and would like a few ideas first.

It not a problem as the brake doesnt stay applied BUT the break light stays on so bit of a hazard!!

The pivot is sticky, try a squirt of WD40 or similar first, if the problem is eased then take the pedal off and make sure it's free on the pivot, if not chances are the lever is corroded, if so very carefully remove the fibre bush on the lever's inner circumference, under that you'll find the aluminium of the lever itself has corroded, clean it off and refit the bush.

Yea i think taking it apart and give it all a spray is the thing to do, i will do what you said, i have dont this with the gear lever recently (gave it a nioce clean while it was off) and improved alot. didnt get round to the brake so think i will ASAP

Least it the one easy bit of the SV to take on and off (though the gear lever is easier)
