I called Electrosport Gauges today, they are the US importers of Acewell clocks and they told me that there isn't a speedo cable for the SV650 and one wouldn't be available for a few months!! Odd eh? So I called back and asked if the univeral pick up mount with magnets on the front wheel would work and he said that on the SV it caused a problem. Yeah okay right, so he is trying to ask someone else and then call me back.

That really does sound like gibberish. Is the SV made out of special magnet-cancelling metal?
![]() Call Banditmania, I'm sure they said they'd mounted one up without problems. Is it possible Acewell are trying to make something that'll run off the original drive?

Yes, i think so. There is a magnet/reed switch sensor supplied as standard as per your cycle computers.
They also mention a Hall-effect sensor available for some models. I asked bandit mania about them and they said it wasn't supplied. Whatever that means, I'm none the wiser! ![]() |

Yeah I think I'll call Banditmania or Acewell tomorrow and see what they have to say. The Electrosport guy said they'd had alot of calls about the SV and should have a working prototype unit maybe in 30 days and if it works correctly maybe sellable product in 60 to 90 days. Thanks for you help in the mean time. |

Mine arrived today. 3100 model.
Piece of p*ss to fit. Five wires, and you only need to look up a switched positive, the rest are easy. Looks quite smart. Some nice functions, even tho it's the bog standard basic one without idiot lights. Setable rpm shift warning. Bargraph rpm and numeric readout. 2 tripmeters. All stainless fittings. Looks fairly weatherproof and sturdy. A few gripes and niggles tho..... 1) Lead from unit to connector block is too short to fit under the tank. Will need to buy some shrinkwrap. 2) A few nuts missing for the wheel sensor and connectors for the wires would have been nice. No big deal i suppose. 3) The speedo is being a bugger, not reading a thing so far. Hmmmm. 4) Wires were all a bit short really, except rpm wire which was 2M long?!?!?!? |
