Default Scottoiler: Dispenser Assembly & Injector.

I have just received a dispenser assembly and injector (a rather fancy name for a tube and needle) from scottoiler. Anyway the tube has a metal strip in it about 5 inches long and the injector end has a long plastic cover over it. Anyone know if its ok to cut the tubing down, and is it ok to bend the wire/strip, thats unless it needs to come out which im a tad unsure about as the tube that came with the bike didnt have anything in it (is it to stop the tube from creasing in the post??)

Cheers

The peice of metal is used so you can angle the injector in the correct place, dont worrey as it wont block the flow.
