got a set of these but cant figure out how to fit them and the instructions are less that usefull has anyone fitted these before

Well the usual form is to screw them in where the cap goes, then refit the cap etc on top of that, this I imagine you are aware of so presumably the question is about the adjustment adaption. What bits have you got? If your kit differs from this arrangement I haven't a clue.

Are you re-valving them at the same time?
It all becomes clear when you get the cartridge apart, they basically move the top-out point of the cartridge, giving extra travel. IMHO too much hassle to fit if your not re-valving as the shim stacks and valves have to come off to fit them. Be careful stripping the cartridges as they can be easily damaged and you'll need a holder to split the bottom of the cartridge and to get the rebound valve off. Hi, Are these fork extenders available for the svs? ( K3) If so from where and any idea how much? Tell me if my idea's crazy but I want to raise the clipons somehow. I love the look of cliponrisers (sunrisers) but the guy seems too have stopped making them and the websites been out of action for 2 weeks. No replies to emails. I really dont like the appearance of the alternatives so my thought would be to fit fork extenders. They just need to be an inch or so longer than the depth of the standard clipon. Then pop the clipons on these, ie on top of the top yoke. My guess is it would provide about a 1.5 to 2" height increase which is the same as the sunrisers and if so my k3 should be able to retain the standard cables and brake lines. WHat do you think? flame suit on! :-)

yes sid thats what i thought it would be but its in the fork cartridge would it be possible to add a 10 mm spacer to the bottom of the fork leg were the bolt goes through and holds the cartridge in place |

Rob is right about set up. IMO with a 120/70 and the rear set up right you'll be okay Trail wise(roughly about the same you'll have with original front end dropped down(10mm-15mm) as per most folks.
As an example I' running a 120/70 with my rear shock 18mm-20mm longer(lowest setting) and with no steering damper and never really had a shake including coming down crossed up... For the type of riding I do/riding style It's a bit much for me but very much rideable. I more than like would have the shock shortened to my spec at some point. As an aside there are various views on extending forks ie the increased travel that you get etc. I have spoken to one of the top tuners in the country about it and even they could not give me a definite view. Also appear you need to run a bit more sag with the forks extended that way. Cheers Ben |
