Default MrsApe and the autocom...

Took MrsApe to London today for a hospital appointment so had the autocom rigged up. When we got there I packed everything into the tank bag. Coming back out, I get ready and plug in the autocom as does Jo.

She normally attaches the lead before she gets on the bike, as she did this time. Only this time after she had plugged in and tried to stand up straight to get on the bike, she only managed to get half way up before she realised that she could not stand up any further.

She had plugged the lead from the helmet into the lead from the bike without first attaching the extension lead.

I had visions of her sitting on the back of the bike with her head cocked over to one side all the way home.

Oh how I laughed.

OK I guess it was one of those, had to be there to appreciate it, moments.

And I thought that story was leading somewhere...

See, I can't see the point of Autocom, when I ride my bike I want silence not someone ranting in my ear about the washing up I haven't done...

Default MrsApe and the autocom...

Please tell me you pointed out the error before you set off!!

My only experience of autocoms is not good. Always breaking up, blowing the fuses, picking up taxis or geting some boring old git in your ear! Maybe I was plugged into the wrong person

I have had an autocom for about 2 1/2 years now - quality bit of kit. I wasn't sure whether I wanted Mrs Matt rabbitting in my ear as we ride however it is great to be able to tell how fast I am going

Normally I get "Why are you going so slow?" or "**~##@@" to other road users.

She was laughing as loud as I was. It's OK, it's to be expected. She's Welsh after all.
