Loving the bike there fella, good to see you got it fixed in the end

One suggestion though - lose the grab rail off the back.

Take a look at this "How To"

All you’ll need is 2 floppy disks, scissors (we all know you have six pairs in your kitchen) and insulating tape.

Apparently you can get some fillers for them that block up the gaps.

Anyway, at the end of the day it is all down to personal preference, if you like it keep it on. I've taken mine off simply because I think the curvy SV grabrail is way too big for the bike, the gaps aren't that noticable but then I've still got my pillion seat unit - single seat cowls like yours do finish the bike off really nicely IMO and so gaps may look odd.

***EDIT***

Just seen Mogs' link. Like it. Very simple and very effective.
