Right guys, just been watching ghostrider 3 and ive spotted this cool looking brake fluid resevoir:

I rang JHS and asked if they sold them and the guy I spoke to told me that if I valued my life I wouldnt bother with this mod. What do you think? Better still does anyone know where I can get one from?

Its just a bit of tube with a bung in the end.

Why on earth would you want it in the 1st place. You would constantly have to check the level, and could split leaving you with no brakes whatsoever.

If its waht you want, then go for it, but i personaly thing you are mad!

Presumably, aside from the looks, the only performance enhancement of this is minute weight saving? Seems a large risk, for a little benefit to me... Your neck, not mine though.

No risk at all, if you do it right. I've got the HRC kit fitted on the rear reservoir, works a charm. I just fitted it because I was sick of taking the rear bodywork off to access the rear reservoir, horrible bit of design that, but it does seem to get a ridiculous amount of attention

And it's genuine HRC, so it must make me faster, right?

I wouldn't fit one on the front though, it'd probably look daft.

Even if it did split- which it's no more likely to do that the standard tube between your reservoir and master cylinder- it still wouldn't instantly leave you with no brakes, as it's just the reservoir. If you did it with a bit of garden hose, that'd not be too clever, but if you use appropriate tubing then there's no problem.

just to top it up? or something else? I've never had to remove the bodywork to top the reservoir up

Yeah, to fill it when bleeding. I couldn't access it without unbolting the RHS of the tailpiece and bending it out. I could probably have used a side-arm screwdriver and then put fluid in using a syringe or something, but that's just extra hassle. The kit was £10, and works as well as standard while being more accesable.

And also, cooler

The weight reduction's piffling, all you lose is the hose and reservoir. But, then, I've taken the unwanted brackets off the subframe too, so all together it must be, ooh, dozens of grams.

Nice one! its on order, and why do I want it? I like changing bits on me bike! I like the idea of HRC parts on my Suzi as well.
