Ok, if you had the option, which would you go for? This is a commute on the M25.
So on the bike that means filtering, getting soaking wet and cold and having to constantly get in and out of wet gear, but you get to work quicker. In the car it means an extra 20 minutes or so but you can have the heater on, windscreen wipers going and the radio playing softly. |

it would really depend on my mood i think, but the m25 is a horrid road, and being stuck on that in/on anything would be crap, but at least in a car you are warm and dry!!!!!

Bike until there's ice/compacted snow on the floor (soft snow is easy to ride on).
Simple as. Wet gear can be dried, Oxford hotgrips help keep hands warm, lots of layers for te rest of the body. I absoluetly despise driving the car these days. So if the weather is too bad to take the bike to work, I'll work from home. But for some, that's not an option. |

I think it's nice to have the option. An extra 20min when it's sodding wet doesn't seem that bad. For me, it's bicycle or bus now

Depends how far round the M25. I quite like my commute, though on the worst of days I would take a car if that was an option. It will be an option at an unspecified time in the near future, as I've finally got round to getting a car licence again.
This year the bike will be having a bunch of stuff done to it, so once I'm back on four wheels, I'll not be a biker again till spring. |
