Default Trying to outrun a roadblock, serves them right.

What is typical is of the 3 vehicles on is a 4x4 and one a white van man, just adds to the stereotype that they are **** drivers with a crap attitude.

The 4x4 really canes it to try and get thru with kids in the back!!!!!!!

Is it just me who whinces at the pain of those poor vehicles, even if I wouldn't ever want one of them?

Rising bollards are great - I used to work in Cambridge for the City Council - the City is thoroughly defending by these beasts. I once had a contractor fail to show for a meeting after they tried just this trick, when they phoned to say why they were going to miss the appointment I just laughed!

The ones in Ashford are well signposted and the no entry sign for anything other than buses/taxis/emergency vehicles is about 10 yards before the bollards and hard to miss. Thinking about it, of these Ive seen elsewhere have usually been clearly marked so its either dumbness or laziness on drivers part really. If it isnt well signed then the council could be liable to pay for the damage. But I bet they are :P

Seen these things myself and they are very clearly marked. Only tagged vehicles like buses and Post vans etc will get past,

It's pretty obvious they were trying to squeez in quick behind a tagged vehicle. Did you notice the airbags in the 4x4 go off.
