hello folks
my pride and joy K6 is due her 4000 mile service shortly. i have recently relocated from London where i used to use premier in west wickham - a great dealer who i was happy with. however thats a tad far away now - so looking for a few recommendations of good place where i can get a service for my baby. Doesn't have to be the cheapest - just somewhere that will do a decent job and not take the pi55. have a couple of options - CMW Motorcycles Ltd in chichester, Rob Willisher in Southampton and Steve Jordan. - any of these any good? or perhaps somewhere totally different! Ta in advance for your help! ![]() |

I absolutely love these guys http://www.fwr.co.uk/
They are not a 'branded' dealer - just a general bike mechanic shop but will stamp your service book. For some reason I never felt like I was being taken for a ride(all the other mechanics I had been to in the past had given me that uneasy fealing) and I believe them when they say that they did something that the service asks for, they seem to know what they are talking about, will not try to charge you for anything they can (The last time I went there as the Kawasaki dealer overfilled my bike with oil, they drained the excess and didn't want any money for it). They have very reasonable hourly charges(about £50 per hour including VAT), 95% of the time they can fit you in within 30 minutes if they have the parts in stock so call them in advance. I believe that they have a few courtesy bikes (97 GSF600 and ER5) and they are happy to lend them to you if you ask and if they are not out. I like to try different mechanics every now and then and the last service I had was with a 'proper' Kawasaki mechanic and didn't think they were anywhere as exceptional as the Ride Power survey would have you believe. I will only be going to the fwr guys from now on for my servicing. ![]() |
