Parking at Glasgow hospitals

Just seen this post about a petition to stop the government charging bike for parking http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=89648 and it reminded me about the hospitals in Glasgow how they are going to start charging for parking.

I cant remember what they are charging cars to park but it is going to be £25 a month for staff to park there cars but for all motorbikes its going to be FREE!!!!

This is taken direct from the NHS intranet,

Motorcycles are permitted to park in designated motorcycle bays without charge. Motorcycles parked in any other area will be subject to the appropriate charge. Motorcycles that are parked inapproppriately or in such a way that causes a hazard or obstruction will be issued with an Unauthorised Parking Notice.



For hospitals that dont have bike bay we dont know yet, waiting on a reply from management (dont worry I aint holding my breath!)

Had the "pleasure" of parking at the Western in Glasgow a couple of times last year. If you can't get a bike bay, ride up and through the pedestrian gate (accross a road) and into the university grounds and park backed in against the wall. No problem.

I found out today if the hospital doesnt have a bike bay park at somewhere you arent going to cause any blockage and you should be alright, still free to park

We still have free parking at the hospitals in Fife, but I'm sure if they start charging staff for parking a car and the bike is free I will be taking the bike to work .
