I know the common consensus for alarms ("Not really worth it for the insurance discount & the cost of the SV"), but what about DataTag/AlphaDot?

Don't they all come with alphadot now? Mine did, with some official suzuki looking gubbins, think suzi has done a deal with them.

C'mon Baph.....
...edit time. There's no option for "Both". That's what I have since it came with alph-dot from the dealer and I wanted to fit the Datatag electronic transponders. Guess what- the kit includes DataDots! So every bit that I could manage has got both applied. And the panels are stencilled (great on Candy Grand Blue, since it barely shows unless you look well). That's as well as the Thatcham Cat 1 Alarm / Immobiliser and the Thatcham Disk Lock ![]() Cheers, Garry ![]() |

I believe Suzuki has discontinued supplying new machines with alphadot, they stopped that about June last year I thnk. I'm not sure of the point tbh? I mean, if you have had your bike nicked, it will only help you if someone happens to check the alphadot and I don't believe the police check this as a rule.

Always bought alpha dot in the past. I couldn't be bothered this time. More happy with my new alarm.

..And apparently to get your bike 'tested' by forensics it'll cost £120 (going up to £150) plus £12 a day for storage. Not worth it in my opinion, but then I love having an alarm
