After getting my bike licence last Tuesday, yesterday i picked up my first bike, SV650S Sport K6 and im over the moon!!!
![]() Collecting the bike was slightly daunting as it was a 60 odd mile trip in the ****ing down rain, on the motorway(which i havent been on on a bike before), and on a brand new bike, but it was really good fun, just need to run her in now! I want to do the usual things so have done searches but there are a few things im unclear of, so if anyone could help/advise, i would be grateful! Tail Tidy - which one? yes its been done to death but i cant seem to find which one is actually a direct replacement which doesnt leave a gap between the bodywork and the TT itself, or require cutting, or some sort of sealant!! surely someone makes exactly what im after?! Crash Bungs - R&G appear to be best so ill probs go down that route too, so out of interest, anybody know any places that have got offers/deals on at the mo, otherwise ill just go to a local bike shop... Alarm Disk Lock - I want one of these just as a visual deterrent, plus the alarm may worry a potential thief a bit more(doubtful though!), but i know there is very little space under the seat, so was wondering which actually fits and which is actually any good?!! preferably thatcham approved as may help with insurance... Fenda Extenda - Just a recommendation for where to buy really..? Right i think thats it for now, so any advice/comments would be a real help!! ![]() P.S - im from South Wales, near Newport, so if anyone sees me around, gimme a beep! ![]() Just need some decent weather now so i can actually go out on the thing!! ![]() |

Fenda Extenda = Pyrmaid Plastics. You need to take the mud guard off to get a proper fit. Crash Bungs = Definately R&G buy direct from their site. They are the best, so expect to pay about £90. Disc lock= Forget the alarmed ones they are a bit of a gimmioc in my book. The Motrax Visha is considered one of the best especially for the price of £39.99. Did really well in recent "hijack" tests. Weather = I can't do anything about but if its any consolation I am in York and its very wet here too. Oh and enjoy the bike, the really are good, once your ar5e gets used to long rides!!! |

I used a Hamicad tail tidy on mine, which also worked pretty well. I didn't put any sealant on, but I think the previous owner did. I didn't see a gap so I presume it was for waterproofing rather than a visible gap.

![]() Not actually Newport, but Cwmbran, a lot of people have never heard of it so its easier to say near Newport!! Only picked it up yesterday fella and havent been anywhere near Caerphilly - next time we get some semi decent weather, ill pop up that way, as i used to go up that way a fair bit, a nice ride up there! ![]() |

I ordered it from motorcycle road and race (google it), yea, it'll go under the seat easily! it comes with a little ouchy thing too so you could even secure it onto the subframe, but i didnt think that was a good idea. Its quite loud aswell (100 - 110 db i beleive)

Found this place that does the Vishas Disk lock for 30quid!!;
http://www.sounddistribution.co.uk/p...?recnumber=134 They also do packages which seem quite decent; http://www.sounddistribution.co.uk/p...recnumber=2041 Dont think i can quite stretch to that at the mo though, as i really want some R&G Crash bungs just incase i drop it! ![]() Plus i actually managed to get out on it for an hour last night, a nice 40 odd mile run! loved every minute!!! ![]() |
