Who, where, how much, what's the quality like? Any pics of past work would be nice.
Spill the beans please. ![]() I've got a spare set of wheels I want done. I can't really take them anywhere in person so collection and delivery would be the only way I think. I know of ESP but their website is down so no info on them. Where are they? Also MCS in Renfrew mention they can arrange it but no prices etc. |

In the past I have had powder coating done by both ESP (in Glasgow) and Chameleon (based in Renfrew). Chameleon are the company you mention working with MCS their address is listed on the MCS website so you could contact them directly. I was happy with the results of both, but to be fair that was some years ago and both companies have gone through staffing changes since then so I cannot say if they are still as good. Did a google search for ESP and their phone number came up as 0141 336 3800.
Got a quote from Chameleon recently to have 15" 4x4 alloys coated in silver. £40 a wheel which included removing tyre before blasting & coating and refitting & rebalancing tyre after coating. A bike wheel would be more expensive as they need to do some masking off of the bearings and disk mounting points which can be time consuming. cheers Stewart |

I used BBS in Edinburgh for my wheels and my old forks... Mainly because he works out of his garage and you can have a look at his bikes
![]() He's... How to put this. Unprofessional. As in, you don't phone up and get "Welcome to BBS, how may this humble one serve you". You get "Hang on, I'm driving!" followed by swearing at cyclists. But, I don't hold that against him, he's reliable, well priced, and enthusiastic. Last time I was over we ended up with the SV in the garage sizing up different mudguards against the GSXR forks, and he ended up giving me a damaged one off the race bike (which I've taken back to Knockhill a few times ![]() So. I like BBS, I'll use him again when the time comes.

Can't remember if i dropped mine off on a Saturday from Chameleon, but it worked out at £105 for two bare wheels, as clean as I could get 'em, and the sprocket carrier.
They were happy to package them up, i arranged a courier to collect. Can't say fairer than that. Colour was a Candy Red, a superb finish. Only gripe was they didn't mask off the disc bolt threads well enough and sand got in there and baked on. Snapped a bolt when i tried to put the disc on again. ![]() |

i used ESP for my front wheel on the SV the work was brilliant, colour match with the back was perfect, it actually looked better than the back wheel, and i regret not getting both done...
they are in Possil Glasgow... I'd recomend them... Can't tell you much more mind you as it was a wee while ago...
