Default diesel chips

yay or nay?! Just bought a focus diesel which is brilliant has 115hp which gives it a fair whack for 50mpg. However a chip will upgrade it to 145!! Anyone done this? Sounds like it must take it's toll on the engine...

firstly legally you would need to tell your insurer,

115 to 145 sounds a bit mutch, i woudldnt go any higher than 130 as bits will start to wear out quicker, but thas just my opinion....

Iv considered it on my diesels but my isnurer didnt like it..

oh and dont forget the brakes will only be built for 115 bhp!

it is meant to increase efficiency too- if your driving at the same pace anyway.

Focus TDCi's are great cars, I was sooo close to buying one last year (got offered a deal on a good Mondeo I couldn't refuse instead). The missus has got a petrol Focus & I love driving it, you can just throw it round pretty much any corner you find - it's great!

Yeah i did it the other way, looked at a mondeo diesel I liked then went for the focus for its throwability! Give it 140bhp and a dollop of torque and it would be great fun
