Default Powder Coat Paint

Anybody know where i can get some powder coat paint that closely matches the blue and black of the early naked SV's?

It would be a case of going to your local paint shop/powder coaters, and look through thier colour charts.

Also, powder coat and paint are different, powder coat is a powder that's baked on, not painted.

what is the big difference except for the different color? the powdercoat sticks better than the paint?

Powdercoat's more plastic where paint's brittle... Makes it extremely tough and resistant to chips. Or at least, that's hwo I understand it

I just call it powder coat paint cause i dont know the techincal term for it.... I need a place to buy just the paint (my buddy already has a machine). I am mainly interested in matching the flat black because i want to "black out" a bunch of the aluminium/chrome parts

if (as your avatar suggests) you have the curvy SV it isn't flat black, if you look closely at it; it has silver in it as well, and if your mate has the machine, I'd suspect that would be a compressor, as opposed to the equipment to statically charge the work piece, dry spray and a giant oven to bake it in, so from this I guess "powder coat" is wrong and all you want is paint?

you'd do better to get the paint code (I'm sure someone can point you in the right direction or of course you could use the SEARCH button at the top of the page).

however if you're only wanting to "black out" some bits wouldn't something like hammerite be easier, do you not have that over there?

Cheers Mark.
