Campbeltown
ok so not on the bike but in the car.
roads are like racetracks (ferry roads) if you like that thing. i used the single track to go down and the main roads to go back up. scenery is stunning and not what i expected. Campbeltown is surprisingly nice if a bit run down. People are friendly. i stayed at the Argyll Arms Hotel and its ok but not great. it was however about £30 cheaper than the competition and one of the only places that was not fully booked. i'm one of these people who regards hotels as a place to put your head down not stay for a "spa" so it fitted my needs perfectly. one of the other reasons i chose the Argyll Arms was its right round the corner from the "square" which has a cppl great pubs and good night life. so this just leaves Peterhead/Fraserburgh area to visit which will mean i have been almost everywhere in mainland Scotland. |

Re: Campbeltown
Completely agree. Thicko here scratched my head for ages thinking what the land was you can see from near Southend. Then another member of the group whispered to me "Northern Ireland".
Anyway Bibio you sexy stud, hopes all's well with you's.

i'm fine and dandy. hows you and your tribe? i'm not really a picture person and if i did stop i would have got there at about 9pm. its a long drive as it is. it is worth going though. you can see Jura and Islay pretty much all the way on the main road. |

Re: Campbeltown
I was there on Sunday on the Bike (currently touring the Highlands). Can agree about how good the roads are. Initially took the A83 down and the B842 back up. I'd have aded on the B8024 if i had the time.
