Bum Clenching Moment of the Day.
Well we have Smile of the Day, Gripe of the Day, so why not Bum Clenching Moment of the Day.
On the way to work this morning, travelling on a single carriageway national speed limit. So doing about 60 ish. I am at the back of about 5 cars waiting for a chance to pop past. Suddenly the cars dab their brakes. This in itself wasn't the terror moment, I was safely back from them (learnt that lesson!) It followed very shortly after. I wasn't expecting what followed. Coming the other way at about 60 mph was a petrol tanker. As it came alongside the car in front of me from under the car appeared one of the dirty great hoses off of the back of the sodding thing! Bum Clenching Moment of the Day. There wasn't a lot of time to react. Thankfully said hose was quite squishy as I was anticipating the speed bump from hell. What with a combined speed of over 100 mph. I'm also glad the metal end clasp missed my left hand side by about 2 foot. Hopefully no one died on their way to work due to this ****wit.

Re: Bum Clenching Moment of the Day.
It all happened so fast that by the time we knew what was what he was already gone along with the traffic.
Nowhere to turn on this bit of road. I can't believe the car behind him wasn't flashing it's lights and bibbing to get his attention. Nadda.

Mine - This morning.
Very beaten up Suzuki VanVan125, with a top box bungee corded to the rear mudguard ridden by a total numpty leaving no room for error, who thought we were having some kind of race, and was doing his best to cut me up or ride round me at every opportunity. No boots, jacket, gloves either. I wasn't having it at first, but it was getting so dangerous i eventually let him past. At which point he nearly had a head on with a truck while heading towards Tower Bridge. I guess he'll win his darwin award sooner rather than later. |

Re: Bum Clenching Moment of the Day.
Mine - This morning,
Stopped at a red light, girlfriend on the back on way to work - Light goes green and a van flies past (Anticipated it as it always happens, people always run the red light on the right...) I pull out (after having checked the right twice) and just as im hitting 30-35 im all of a sudden aware of an artic lorry on my right, he ran the light at at least 50mph and swerved into the right lane to avoid killing us. Got it on camera too but as always doesnt look anywhere near as close or scary... spent the rest of the ride wondering the what ifs... |

Re: Bum Clenching Moment of the Day.
Driving in the middle lane of the M25, there's a big jolt from the engine, followed by loss of drive, made it onto the hard shoulder before all the engine lights came on. Could have been much worse if we'd been in the outside lane surround by other vehicles. The van is broken.

Re: Bum Clenching Moment of the Day.
Honnister pass. All the tight steep down hill bits in the wet. And it was my idea to ride it too.
