Default Shed Security

Has anyone any good suggestions for shed security?

Basically, it's locked etc and obviously an anchor and chain is best but I have power down there and I would like some kind of Alarm with a PIR sensor that would plug in and have a battery backup and maybe a keypad number etc.

I thought I saw something like it in a magazine once that begin with an X or something but cant remember the name???

I hope to find something at the NEC but thought you guys migbht be able to give me a heads up?

Regards

I think it was a Xena garage alarm - I think a magazine was supplying one with a subscription....I think you can also get one that texts you if it goes off...minf you, would need a phone line unless its a GSM thingy...

edit...as a cheapo solution, how about this...http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...579&doy=search or something like it?

Close thx Biker Billy

However, looking for something I can plug in with Battery Backup so that I dont have to keep recharging

And you are correct..I think it is Xena garage alarm....I am going to check them out now. Hope they have a website.

You shouldnt call your bike a shed!

Get one of those machine guns they hav in aliens...

Where is the shed? Is it obvious from the street that the shed is there?

Do you have an alarm on your bike? If you chain it down well and make it so they have to move the bike to get the the chain then you have an answer.

Also maybe get an alarmed xena chain so if they move that it screems, they ARE VERY LOUD!!!!

what about a friedland or yale wireless alarm kit, there dead easy to fit round your house and just fit a PIR or a door contactor onto the shed think there about £100 on ebay and a house alarm to boot

at my old house i used a car alarm wired to a battery and a switch on the door, i used a remote fob to arm/disarm, worked fine aslong as you kept the battery charged.

My shed, apart from being brick built , has a motion sensor wired to the house alarm. As is the door sensor.

Even if the got past the door sensor, there is no way on earth they are going to get past the motion sensor at the back of the shed before setting off the alarm.

Baby monitor to detect when someone's breaking in? Not an alarm but if you got power it might be worth it.
