New SV K6 owner: hissing noises

Hi all.

I'm both new to biking and owning a v-twin. I recently got an SV650S Blue K6 and I can hear a hissing sound coming from the left side of engine. I hear it only when I'm accelerating, in 2nd gear or higher and doing 25mph or more. It doesn't hiss when I let go of the throttle and it doesn't quite sound like air.

Is this normal or should I be worried. It's only a year and a half old!

Probably all the gear mechanisms and stuff, it sounds normal to me, i get a strange sort of whirring sound and everything too from the side. Does it get louder when you stick your knee out on the left side when you are riding along? If so, then its normal.

To mask the sound of horrible mechanical whinings, fit a loud exhaust.

perfectly normal, mine makes exactly the same noise and has done for all of it's near 4000miles

What a relief! It does get a little louder when I speed up, but I can only hear it with my visor open. Thanks for responding so fast.

Fit a race can, that completely cures that particular mechanical noise

Sounds to me like the injector sound, mine sounds a bit more lik quiet tapping tbh, but i guess they might all be a little different!
