hi Peeps....
Blimey... I haven't been on here in a while! not good... Must flog myself for that... do apologise.. anyway, slight problem.. Car blew up recently so back on bike for communting (never really done that).. No probs keeping body warm and dry, but i do have issues with very very very cold fingertips..... I ride a Wreg SV650s... I was wondering if anyone had any experience of using Bar Muffs?? Been thinking of getting some...... Just to take the wind off... Been soooo cold the last couple of days i that i have made a conscious decision to do something... Also , any thoughts on heated grips would be good. cheers Peeps.. ![]() Splosh |

Heated grips are great! I use mine they keep my fingers warm. Also layer up and keep your core body warm...

Have you got good gloves? They're not all the same even if they are padded. I use the lobster like Panthon gloves from Hein Gericke, completely waterproof and I haven't had cold fingers since. I've got heated grips too but without those gloves they'd be pointless as the fingys still got cold.

Just fitted my muffs yesterday and they are the K9's ballbag contents. I've had um sat in the garage for months which has been a damn waste. No more cold pinkies for me

I got bar muffs, and some Richa gloves. The combination is very good, although my hands got cold today I never got to a point where I lost control due to numbness. Its certainly worth getting muffs as a stop-gap while you sort out heated grips?
I find that traffic lights are a godsend in cold weather, it gives me time to warm my hands up on the engine Matt |

I've tried hand guards, every kind of winter glove including the lobster claw type but the only thing that helps my icy digits are heated grips. I've used several kinds and they're all fine. I've heard that Oxford grips can conk out but my last two sets (on different bikes) have worked well.
I'm toying with the idea of Gerbing heated gloves but I'm put off by the price, the fact you have a wire connecting you to the bike and by the realisation that if I do get them SAGA bus tours are only one step away. |
