Default Cleaning Off Oily Muck

having been very naughty and not cleaned the steed for little while. i have started the process this afternoon. with everything going well and the bike done i have come to the rear wheel. have been using 'muc off' (works brilliantly) sprayed it on the oil/road crud covered rear wheel, let it soak for a couple of minutes and gone to scrub off. and found that the layer of crap is just too thick to come off!! have tried and tried and using plenty of elbow grease, but have made pretty much zero enrodes into getting this crap off. does anyone have any suggestions as to a cleaning product/chemical (that i can easily get hold of this afternoon) to clean my poor wheel with?

thanks

Chris

try an alloy car wheel cleaner(spray can)you can pick these up from all car shops or most petrol stations, really gets the grime off.stay clear of spraying on discs though.

yeah it should do i,i use it on the cages wheels when its thick with brake dust.this stuff hardlt budges with water&elbow grease alone.

then if i spray the alloy cleaner on & leave for a few minutes, then rinse off with warm water it comes up like new.i think it must contain some dissolving/softening chemicals for stubborn dirt.

if it works(should do)post it up to let us know.

hope this helps.

Paraffin does the job a damn sight cheaper than any branded stuff and it washes off easier than WD40 too.

I use WD40 also. But Lozzo is of course right. Parrafin is way cheaper.
