Fitting it today.
One last question, I was thinking on making the cut about 25mm back from the joint on the OEM pipe. So thats 25mm from the bottom of the pipe that runs into the OEM silencer. Is that enough? too much? Reckon it should be ok as it leaves enough for the re-connection union and won't cause a problem with the Scorpion link pipe. Any advice appreciated. Cheers folks. |

Cut it about 30mm back from bottom join of OEM pipe.
Decent fit. Used a little loctite instant gasket both ends. Just HAD to listen to the bike without the OEM silencer, WOW. LOUD!! Then got the Scorpion on, seems quite bassy at idle, barking on the throttle though ![]() Some photos of the job. ![]() Masked off the pipe to help see cut line and protect it. Swingarm protected with some heavy cardboard. ![]() 4" angle grinder to get almost all through the pipe. Hacksaw to free off the last part. Filed off any burrs and sharps. ![]() A little loctite instany gasket at each end off the pipe. Clamp both ends. Job done. Last edited by Cam_73; 26-01-08 at 03:14 PM. |
