Okay so this is always in my mind when i come to this roundabout, the exit I often take is the 3rd from my ext but as you can see on map below is pretty much straight on...There are two lanes to enter the roundabout also:

For that exit (as the 2nd one is dead) you should be in the left hand lane. Indicating left as you pass the first junction.
Left lane will be for left/straight-on, right lane will be for turning right. However, being on a bike, i'd go with how the traffic was flowing and was most safe for me at the time, so probably the right hand lane ![]() (Doh, Left and right being physically riding on the road, and not looking from above) |

is the exit lane a dual carriageway with 2 lanes? if so you could legally go ahead from either lane. just make sure when you indicate to come off you are absolutely sure some div is not trying to go around the RA in the outside lane! indicating as in the post above. if not, left lane would be the "legal" lane. but you are on the bike! faster then all the other drivers, i would overtake the lot
![]() If and when the "dead" exit becomes alive again, the current exit should be treated as a right turn. Last edited by laMon; 30-01-08 at 01:11 PM. |

No, the exit runs up to the dualie, it is a single lane, but i find room to overtake as it does open up at a certain part. Just wanted peeps thoughts if i was doing anything wrong sitting in the right lane and just not indicating...

I'd be left laning that one methinks, makes sure there's no invite to the 1st exit people to join and then cut across you which could happen if you were in the right lane.

we have one here in chippenham very similar but the second exit would be a road so in my case itsa right indication, yours as its a closed exit i would say go as though you are going straight over i.e left lane.

Just so long as you get your knee down, the rest doesn't matter.
