Made no difference to my curvy policy back in 2001, wasn't regarded as a performance mod by Norwich Union back then.
I advise all mods to be disclosed to your insurers guys, you don't want to find your insurance invalid at the wrong time!!! |

Especially with a big mod like that which affects handling.
I've found it doesn't weight my policy much, but it does cut down my choice- obviously my bike goes a wee bit further than just the front but there's only a handful of brokers who'll even quote me now, never mind do a reasonable quote. When you declare it, get it in writing. This is important, just because a phonemonkey says it's OK doesn't mean it is, and good luck proving it in court without a written confirmation. When I was with CIA, they happily quoted me and I took out the policy, but after a month I discovered I was only covered for return to OEM- they quoted me with the increased value of the bike but if it'd been written off I'd have got half what I paid for, because their salesman was either useless or on the make. Luckily I found out the easy way and forced them to refund me, but if it'd been in a claim situation it would have been very, very messy.

Bennets won't touch you if there are any mods to a bike. But it is no loss as nobody in their right mind should be with them unless they have more money than sense

See, I'd want more than that, since you've also changed the wheels, discs and calipers... Suspension upgrade is so vague.
