Default World of BMW Off Road School

The one which Ewan and Charley....and Charley again did.

Has anyone tried it?

Expensive... but looks second to none.

Haven't tried it (yet) !!

But, I have have spoken with one of the instructors who gave me 3 pieces of advice :-

(1) DO IT !! (well he would say that wouldn't he ?) !!

(2) When you book it book a 650 NOT the GS 1200 as you'll spend a third of the day picking the damn thing up !!

(3) When you head into the lake DO NOT follow the instructor as he'll head straight for the deepest bits !!

I'm seriously tempted to do the level one advanced course there

Watching Charley on the Dakar rally is going to cost me a fortune
(wtf was the thinking behind the music on that?!)

I've heard a lot of good reports from those who have done this - excellent tarining & advice, and it's especially handy if you're thinking of doing a Ewan & Charlie type trip.

However it is hugely expensive, and TBH for that reason I can't see myself ever getting around to doing it. It's around £1K for the two of us once you've factored in overnight stays, and for that money we could each do 3-4 trackdays, or buy an older trailie to use green laning, etc

It is good. I found some of the exercise on the first day a bit tedious, mainly as my slow control IS and WILL ALWAYS be awful so I dont enjoy practicing it, and I was on an unfamilir bike. But the trail riding and techniques were excellent and a real hoot. A real laugh, especially the carnage that ensued at one point as 8 or so bikes tried to all scale a quarry at once.

It IS expensive though, I am not sure if I would pay the current rate and the thing is there are enough nobbers...sorry folks...with enough money to go and go again

I got my place somewhat cheaper at ?150
