Default Miss and run - advice

Hi chaps,

Just been 'missed' on a junction. I was waiting to turn right when a big ol merc cuts across the junction, forcing me to bail out laying the bike on the ground.

merc defiantly saw me i saw the panic in her eyes, and she slowed and stopped 20m up the road (possibly to see if i were still moving).

By the time id got my bike started she was long gone

SO. as there was no contact, can i report a hit and run? and if i did, would i have to declare this to insurers (little damage just paint). I just want the police to scare her a bit. (i have the reg number i think)

If she caused an accident then report her for failing to stop and give you details

She is the red line in a car, im the blue line waiting to turn right,

She was close enough to make me have to bail or loose my leg.

I'd report her, though I do understand your concern re the insurance.

Someone once pulled out on me from a side road, hitting my bike (albeit at about 1 mph as I screeched to a halt), then gave me a load of verbal and drove off. Had there been even a morsel of damage to my bike I'd have told the police just so that she had to go through a whole heap of hassle as just deserts for being a bitch.

Ahah sorry i was having a blonde moment there! Thought for a sec whats up with that. Report it for not giving you details, yeah, but theoretically she hasn't done nothing wrong as no contact (in her eyes), you've taken the evassive action, which i wouldn't have cos i'dve been half asleep waiting for her to hurry up, so would possibly have a crushed bike if it was me. Respect to you for gettin outta the way.

hmm, I don't think it's a miss & run. She did stop.

But if there's damage to your bike then I would attempt to claim it.
