I'm thinking about getting a corded dremel, primarily to polish up my downpipe.
I know people rate them quite highly, but do you end up finding all sorts of uses for them or does it spend most of the time sat on the shelf? |

I just got one recently from B&Q in their sale, it was some limited edition formula one tie in... Superb buy, I got the dremel, flexible neck thing, and the deluxe accessories kit plus the new abrasive disc attacher thing all for ?40. I don't know if they're still available but if you're thinking of getting a dremel it'd be worth checking.
Veyr handy little things at times- the main thing is, when they do come in handy there tends to be nothing else that would do the job easily, mine comes in very useful for slotting bolts or screws when they strip for instance, to allow a screwdriver to be fitted, and that's a pain to do by hand. Things like that... I did have a cheapy B&Q one before but it was less powerful than this dremel and had much less good tools, not to mention needing a seperate wall wart and the fact that it broke after a while, because it was always overheating. I don't use it all that often but when I do, I'm very glad to have it. The flexi drive thinger is very handy but it's not cheap. Though I should say, if I decide to clean my downpipe I use a drill and abrasive wheel or wire brush rather than the dremel.

They're a bit gutless though.
I prefer air tools, but then again I'm a barbarian. And I don't polish anything either ![]()
