Bikers

Over the last 8 years of working in the city, i continually talk about how much bikes arre better than public transport.

Over the last 4 years of working at this firm, in the IT department, i've got 2 more riders firstly to get a L plate bike, then move onto a proper bike. Well i've just had another one go from L plates and he's literally just popped over to tell me he's ordered a brand new Fazer. That, the SV, or a Hornet, I tried to get him to go for the SV, but he's just ordered the fazer.

That along with one of my friends getting his bike license, (and bought an SV), i'd say im doing pretty well at recruitment. Prehapes a change of careers needed (yes please ).

Not only that, but my other half who was happy to be pillion, but would never ever ride, is wanting to take her DAS this summer, rock on

So how many do you feel you've converted over the years.

None yet I'm working on 1 or 2.....one is a dead cert when he can afford it.

4 people have done a CBT since I joined the Oxford lab!

2 people full licence. That I know off. There is a chance there are other people ive known on other units that now ride bikes. A lot of people have shown interest.

In all honesty, I try not to recruit any. I particularly do not encourage folk who I know would just kill themselves straight away (no road sense, type to jump on a thoou' straight after das etc)

I'll happily answer any questions, but if someone got into biking because of me and then happpened to be involved in a fatal accident then I would feel like I was responsible. Of coruse, you can come out with arguments along the lines of "well, it can happen to you crossing the street" etc but it's just the way I feel really.

I've converted one so far. He's just bought a Ducati Monster. He'd wanted a Street Triple, but the waiting times were just to long.
