One of my mates has a 636 and is after tyres for it to replace the 014s it has on at the moment. I suggested a sports touring approach to replacement (z6, etc) to suit his riding style, but seemingly no-one makes them in the correct sizes.
He is after 120/65 & 180/55 and has had suggested to him either Dunlop D208 or Avon Firestorm. Anyone any thoughts on what would be a good all year round tyre to try? Needs to give reasonable life and be able to cope with cold/wet weather as well as summer.

Sadly not available in the right size for a front (not according to Avon's website anyway!) Cheers though.

Ah, oops. Daft question but can he not just use a 120/60 for great choice?

Is that likely to be an issue changing profile? Not something I've done before, and he is fairly new to biking and this is the first time he's changed his tyres.

BT021's would be my choice.
Had them on teh Sv and teh Hornet and the back did 11'000 or so before it needed replacing. |

I put a 120/70 on my kwak when I had it and quite frankly I couldn't tell the difference.
If he wants to stay with 120/65 then he could always go for a sticky front like a Michelin Pilot Power and put a Pilot Road on the back. |

You "may" get clearance issues with the front mudguard if you change the profiles to much, but a 65 to a 70 "shouldn't" be a problem.

120/70 seems like quite a popular change having had a scan on MCNNinjas. I'll suggest he goes down that route I think.

Avon Azaro ST's, Avon Storm ST's, or the new BT021's (which recently replaced the 020's). Go with a 70 front, you shouldn't have any clearence issues going up to a 70!
