Don't like the underslung rear caliper and am no good at welding to change it!

Pointy Swing arm legs are just plain rectangle section tubes - so palin and not as pretty as the curvy ones

Cos the pointys swinger's a bit fugly innit!

I've been thinking about way to move the underslung caliper to above the swinger but haven'y got too far with it so far

I'm sure I've seen a curvy which used the pointy caliper hanger... The mounting lugs are easy enough, you either do an above-and-below bracket or you drill the arm and fit a suitable tab. I need a new caliper hanger if I'm going to fit this other wheel, so I reckon I'll just get one made up to suit, I could try myself with the little milling machine that could, but I'll end up wasting loads of aluminium bits and probably machining off my own face, so maybe better not.

Yep, I would love to lose the underslung caliper too, but not enough to fit that slab of metal.

This is one area where I'm surprised Northwind hasn't fully investigated. The weight saving must be quite a lot, together with a cleaner look and the caliper is not so much in the way of the cr@p fling.

Saw a pic of a bike with the conversion quite recently on here. Embee?

I've always had longer term plans which would make it daft to do it now... Just that they don't ever get any closer

Think i might have to get my spare swingarm, wheel and caliper out to see if there is anything that's workable with the standard stuff although would it be a better option to use a caliper from a pointy?
