Default I am, the law....

Following Mr Traffic Policeman this morning. Plodding along at 75mph, I was running early (SHOCK). Mr Policeman in front, past the roadworks, booom off he shot.... Clearly doing well over 90, no blues...

I carry on up to 80 odd, mince mince mince, pull into inside lane.

Copper sits in the outside lane, clear lanes in the middle and inside. Meh, sod em. Ignore mode....

Comes up to M25, from the outside lane, shoots accross all 3 lanes, no indicatation. Squeezes in front of a lorry past the bollards onto the sliproad. I go past shaking my head. ! rule for them, 1 rule for us, but TRAFFIC cops doing it

Anyhoo, ignore mode still on... Carry on to work.

Sitting at traffic lights, van in front accross the cycle box, im sitting behined it to allow pedetrians through. My lights go green, i filter past (with caution) as im used to pedestrians running out in front of me. Out of no where, some women decides to run in front of the traffic, past the van, just as im coming through (about 10mph with caution), arrrgghhhhh BRAKE CLUMPPPPP. Women bounces off my bike about 2-3ft in the air, lands on her feet, then has the cheek to have a pop at me.

I duley inform her of the lights being green for me, and red for her, with a few f-ings and blindings, stupid female dog, use her eyes. People laugh at her, I carry on.

God I can't WAIT to leave the city commute.

Thanks for reading.

I had a near miss with a cyclists under similar circumstances only last week.

Traffic was moving at 2/3mph, and I was filtering through at say 10mph, when all of a sudden this cyclist decides he'll cut through the moving traffic no-where near any kind of pedestrian crossing! Luckily there was enough distance to stop in time... but it does make you wonder where the logic is with some people.

OLD Kent Road about 9.30am today..MR bike mcplod is with us as we merrily make our way thru the last nights puke, broken bottles, body parts etc...

staying the right side of the law while hes about, no darting into bus lanes and other lawlessness !

but as we (several bikes) approach the 55th set of lights, we can get no further, im sitting behind Mcplod when, one of our number, a young lassie on a new fangled MT1 or some such nonsense, decides to go OFFSIDE all the way to the lights, wrong side of central reservations, sailing passed seamus Mcplod while shes at it....,he shoots off and guess what we all saw after the lights changed and we got thru, the young lassie getting off her bike having been pulled ....

what a shame

Its for those reasons, why I'm hoping to move, I have seen a house 5/10 minute from a train station, at work the other station is next door where to I work Ace, that would meaI wouldn't have to ride to work most days!

Blimey Daimo. You seem quite calm considering your morning. Fortunately most traffic cops are okay. It only takes the one who thinks he's above the rest to make us think they are all winkers.

I would have taken registration of the bike and then reported driver for dangerous driving. When the operator says 'That's a Police bike sir' (as they do) I'd ask to make a complaint against the officer also.

Absolutely HATE coppers who think they are above the law.

mini-rant over, well done Daimo for being more level headed than me!
