Default My Curvy smells of burnt fish :-(

I assumed it was just the smell of WD40 and detergent boiling off the engine.

After it lasted a few days i began to wonder. I then noticed some smoke coming from the seat unit.

It transpires that my regulator/rectifier was hot enough to fry an egg on.

Oh dear

that smell is the fried battery, not the reg/rec ... i.e. the faulty reg/rec has prolly killed the batt too

Doesn't really matter, my last one was off a Gixxer thou, I had to do a bit of wire chopping, but it's easy enough.
Here's a link that explains it

You need to take the pilchards off the downpipe before they start going black!
