Default Midlands Superbikes - Market Harborough

Evening MIGTS

Not posted for a while since selling my SV at the end of last year, but in the market for another bike in time for the Spring! Seen a couple of possibilities in Bike Trader at the above, but has anyone bought from them before and what's their reputation like?

Thanks
Paul

Not bought from them, but we've been there a few times and they are always busy. Some of their bikes are a bit tatty, and not particularly cheap. For example.............if the SV thou in your sig is their silver one I'd take that straight off your list!

Let us know when you're going over though, and if we're free we'll pop along to say HI and kick a few tyres with you.

Thanks Lissa. No the SV is elsewhere. Was considering a ZX9R from Midlands Superbikes. Think i'm going for the SV though, gonna have a look today as it's only got 2500 miles on it and described as 'pristine' condition. It's a 54 plate in silver and up for ?3495, so gonna try and get a couple of hundred off at least

The Thou sounds good

One more point about MSB...............they do seem to have quite a quick turnover of stock, so if you are interested in a specific bike, ring on the day to make sure they still have it

My wife bought her SV from there last year. I do agree with Lissa: quality on offer can be variable and prices are on the high side ( but, hey, they are a dealer so I always expect that.) We were looking to buy quite quickly, were new to this part of the country, and hadn't really chosen what bike model we were looking for, so we found it useful to get a cross market selection rather than trudging round everywhere (we wanted to ride, not shop, so were happy to pay a bit more for our convenience). Sales attitude was good - no probs getting a decent test ride (for us, no need to show licence/insurance or leave a bond!)

We've not had a problem with the bike since. If you know what you are looking at then you could find a decent bike.

However, your sidebar says you're in Macc - personally I wouldn't go to Market Harborough from there. It's a hell of a way and I'm sure you could source something just as good in the Pennine belt (Lancs/Yorks/Cheshire). Isn't there also a big dealer in Stoke - DK?

RIP SV650 X curvy, crashed and written off December 2019.
I'm (procrastinating about) fixing up an old Yamaha FZ600 to get myself fully back on the road.

Yeah - that Speed Triple I nearly walked away with is still on their site - but I can tell you, it's definately sold.

35 miles from Macc according to SatNav. Anyways, bought one today from Chorley Yamaha. It's a naked SV Thou on a 54 plate, 2100 miles with bellypan, hugger, braided hoses, crashbungs and tailtidy. ?3499 including a new Datatool Alarm, delivery, 12 months MOT and a very early 4,000 mile service.

Nice one!

You do realise that if you've bought a silver Thou you've now got to turn into Kwak and polish it to within an inch of it's life

This could be a problem now I own it, but fortunately the previous owner (who traded it in for a new Fazer) had a number of bikes and looking at the SV he's hardly used it, so i've just got to keep it that way now. I was quite wary of the 'pristine condition' description, but honestly it looks like the miles were done by just pushing it around his garage

Even better, the previous owner has already bought the necessaries, like alarm, hugger and bellypan so you haven't got to get those.

People who buy bikes and then never ride them do provide bargains

Edit...........damn, forgot Pete was logged in!
