Question Dealing With Road Spray

This time of year, with all the layers of salt that have been sprayed on the roads how do you deal with the crud that hits you visor and then dries almost instantly?

I have a wiper blade built into the thumb of my glove but this is meant for rain and just smears verything to a complete mess.

I also use Visor Clear that makes rain drops just blow off the visor. This is really good stuff but is not meant to tackle this crud.

Yesterday I only did about 5 miles on a dual carriage way and could hardly see through this mess.

Thanks
Tim.

I hate this stuff too. Not sure there is a solution really unless you carry a little spray bottle mounted to you bike somewhere easy to reach.

I keep a well moistened J cloth stuffed down the front of my screen, for those "can't see a damn thing" moments.

I find polishing my visor with pledge before setting out stops most of it from sticking.

I avoid dual carriageways when commuting but sounds like you need some sort of wet sponge attached to your glove to wipe the visor - no idea how though!

I always carry a V2 Sponge, well worth the money. But is only good when you stop to clean your visor

I feel your pain, I suffer with this massivly on the A2. In fact, looking at my visor right now, its covered in salt and grit and dirt.

Best thing i can suggest is if you can hold out "safly" until you exit the motorway and stop off at a petrol station and have a quick wipe up with the free tissue.

I hate those moments when its raining as well as the salt sticking to the visor, making lights look light stars in your face.... Arrgghh

Today I finally tied a packet of baby wipes to my yoke

Wet wipes now readily to hand.
