Default Wii - How to delete photos???

The help of the .org is requested
My son wants to sell* his Wii. He has personal photos that are saved to the hard drive that he would like to delete before sale.
THe only option he can find would be to format the harddrive, but this would lose the Internet Channel, Everybody votes channel & possibly Mario 64 all of which he has paid to download.
He has saved these 3 things to the SD card but it warns before formatting that you will not be able to restore channels from an SD card if you format the drive. Is this true?
I had the idea to edit all the photos to blank them out, but it always keeps the original photo & saves a copy of the new version.

Re sale - he's out in Barbados & despite allegedly buying a PAL on NTSC, TV it only shows Black & White. If you can resolve this, the sale might be off

Many thanks

It'll be the scart connection. Play with the RGB output settings and it should work

Thanks, but the TV doesn't even have a SCART plug so it was just plugged in to the Video & Audio inputs (you know the white yellow & red) anyway, the Wii is back in the UK now so any help with deleting pictures short of formating the hard drive.
Or if you format the hard drive can you copy channels & downlodaded games from the SD card back to the hard drive?
