Default Right leg out what?!

The other day I had 3 separate oncoming bikes all stick their right leg out at me when I rode past. I nodded as usual, but was a bit puzzled. Whats all that about then - is it some new kind of greeting? Made me smile anyway...

I had that coming back from Betsy on the NW rideout last week. Thought, "How rude, none of them nodded" lol. Noticed they all had their legs out.

They say the same when we nod at them instead of kick at them, perhaps this means Casey Stoner is actually saying hello in MotoGP instead of sulking like a 6 year old???

I do it sometimes if I don't really want to take my hands off the controls Or if I'm passing people, because the nod/wave doesn't work when you're in front of someone.

It's also starting to become a common sign if you want the bike behind to come through.

Most emergency services understand this to be which ever leg kicks out is the one you are expecting them to pass on too (Motorway, Dual Carriage way, Bus lanes).

It's very common in Spain. Used for 'hi fellow biker' and 'thanks for pulling over' and even 'I'm turning right but don't want to indicate'
