Whats everyones impression of these? Don't seem tooo bad to me, not had any slides. But then again I'm new to biking, so don't crank it right over just yet.
What pressures would you recommend? PR2 at the end of the month though! |

not bad, but hardly steller, better tyres are available for the same money, or were, as the 220s have been discontinued now and replaced with the RoadSmart, which i can vouch for as being a nicer tyre imo...

More than enough grip on the road .....
![]() Plenty of grip for trackdays as well..... ![]() I have never understood when people say they are bad tyres, I dont have much experience with other tyres, so perhaps I will be AMAZED when I finally do get around to swapping them around, but I doubt it. Done over 4k on mine now and they are still in good general health and its all been enthusiastic riding, they are starting to get abit close to needing changed now though. |

Yep D220s are good enough to get the pegs down when warm even if a bit damp. They get a bad rep but to be honest - as people will start their riding on this tyre (as OEM) , square it off, get 5000miles of practice; by the time they get 'new' tyres they will be better riders regardless.
I wouldn't buy them for my bike, but I wouldn't rush to replace them either. |

I'm not a fan of mine at all, they just don't inspire any confidence especially if it's a bit damp. I felt the same about the OE Bridgestones on my GS500, but the moment I changed them to BT45's it was like a different bike.
Going to give the Viper Sports a whirl in a couple of weeks to see what they feel like - expensive business finding the right tyre. |
