Exclamation Guided Meditation

This is something that i have looked at doing alot after i tried it a few times.. the problem is i always get interupted somehow... like someone going to the loo or a car pulling up ect.. its really iritating.. but it certainly chanels your thoughts to a degree. as your told what to think but you free to imagine what you like.. as you are only given sketch information and your imagination fills in the blanks.
At first you will do it and you will be able to imagine things but with practice you can really be where you are imagening..
and it chills you right out.. (best part)

anyone done it before?

Done plenty of meditation and relaxation at Yoga, sounds like the same sort of thing (cant remember it being called guided though) the teacher would talk us through being somewhere really beautiful...felt like you were really there! It does chill you out - I ought to practice it more often I havent done it for ages.

Would it help me channel my thoughts towards uni work and revision? Seeing as they're a bit all over the place atm and I keep losing them

Sounds very relaxing though...

If your not very good at blanking out everyday noise meditating, may i suggest you try this...at bedtime....

lay on your back with the palms of your hands flat on the bed, layed naturally by your side
concentrate on controlling your breathing( in nose, out of mouth, or is it the other way round???!!!)

now then, heres the tricky part,
once your relaxed and breathing is calmed, think about your toes, concentrate on them hard
imagine your toes disappear, go numb or aren't there( quite tricky to describe) or 'switch them offf in your head
when your toes are switched off, progress to your knees and switch them off

gradually move up your body and switch everything off( sounds odd I know)

by the time you have managed to get to your elbows( with practise) you are in the land of nod, or on an astral plane.
I have done this many, many times in times of stress in the past and its super, or just because I like to. When you wake up in the morning you should feel great

Sort of worked last night. It certainly helped me relax, but not to get to sleep.

I'll try again tonight.
