I've made friends with my bike again

I've only been riding a few months, but I've learnt a lot in that time - particularly about cornering. I thought the best thing I'd done to the bike to help was take the excess slack out of the throttle cable to stop me pogo-ing round bends, but today I had another revelation:

New tyres are much better that knackered old ones! I can't believe the difference My old bt014 at the front was past it's best, the new Conti RoadAttacks on both ends make it feel like a different bike. Olny done a bit of scrubbing so far, but bends feel safer and I no longer feel like I'm fighting the bike.
