Default New speed camera on A40 near Ealing turn off

Please tell me the speed camera going Eastbound on the A40 just before the Perivale/Ealing turn off is new?

It's a small digital type with no lines on the road (I don't think) on the left of the road as you travel into London.

Is it one of those that looks like a shruken speed camera on a really high post?

If those are speed cameras...there's another - A1 Archway Road, facing south just after Highgate Gyratory (i.e. north of Highgate Tube). no idea how long it's been there...only spotted it a couple of days ago, and it's a 30 zone coming straight after a 40. Oops

So new that there are no white lines yet. The lines will be there in a few weeks.

They seem to put those new little, high level ones in without the lines to start with, maybe as a warning.

I've spotted both of these new cameras in the last couple of weeks. I don't think that either are active yet, as the white lines haven't been painted.

They don't need them to work. The white lines are used to calculate the speed of the vehicle from the two photos. They might need to do this if you're caught and challenge them.
