..and I'm suffering.
Mr Lou and I rode to Nottingham and back yesterday, it was the first trip on the Triumph, and riding position was great but.. ...my hand hurts, it got so bad on the journey that it went numb and I couldn't change gear. I know that the clutch is heavy, but this was bad. Anyone else had this? How did you manage? I love Oliver, but I can't do another ride like that. It was only 160miles. And it still hurts today. Except for that it was an ace ride, loved the bike! Lou x |

![]() ![]() I know the problem because I suffer it on all of my bikes. I use good quality cycling gloves when I am on the mountain bike and I still get the pains in my palm and thumb. Riding motorbikes made it considerably worse for a while, until I worked out that the nasty CG125 I was riding was just not put together for how I would ride. The bar and brakes were not set up correctly for my hand position, forcing me to use an unnatural position. Once on the SV, the bar and levers felt like that had been put together especially for me and hence no pain. Good padded gloves also help. In cycling, it was the force of my upper body pressing on the nerves in the palm that caused the problem so good gloves and relaxingmy grip helped. ![]() |
